As far as the bookmakers are concerned, Town are expected to find themselves in mid-table in the UniBond League Division One North this season after last year saw them finish thirteenth in UniBond League Division One South. The Warrington club have boasted a number of former Leigh players in recent times in the form of Danny Morton, Dave Tickle, Liam Coyne, Neil Smith, Ged Courtney and Steve Smith as a result of the involvement in recent times of former Leigh manager Andy Nelson.
The towns of Leigh and Warrington have been keen rivals on the rugby league field for more than a century, but Saturday represents the first time in several seasons that the town's footballing sides take centre stage, with the Wire producing a match programme to herald the occasion.
As you would expect from such a local game, Leigh-based supporters can comfortably reach the game via public transport, with the 19 and 28A bus services operating to Warrington from Leigh Bus Station. Although the ground is just about within walking distance of the town centre, the 11, 11A, 12 and 12A bus routes all run past the ground from Warrington Interchange.
Admission for Saturday's game is £4 for adults, £2 for concessions with a 3pm kick off at Cantilever Park.
Get down to Warrington and make yourself heard; come on Leythers!
