Ferguson met Ronaldo last week in ‘clear-the-air' talks about the player's future.
The Portuguese international has made no secret of his desire to join Real Madrid - but Sir Alex broke his recent silence on the issue by again insisting his 42-goal ace would not be leaving the club.
Fergie said: "I can say he'll be a Manchester United player next season. He won't be sold."
However, Ronaldo told ESPN that his future is far from certain: "I don't know about the future, only God knows it. I can't say any more.
"Great players are always hounded by great clubs. It's a normal situation. There are other great players who are in the market who are good and who other clubs want."
ManUtdWeb has repeatedly called for the club to sell Ronaldo. He doesn't want to be here, the fans are increasingly disillusioned with him and the player, after a phenomenal season, will never attract a more substantial transfer fee - with Madrid rumoured to be lining up a £68million swoop.
